Aler Jaguar's works tend to present a social perspective focusing on the countryside of peasant farmers, historical Mexican leaders such as Zapata, and the traditions and customs of the Mexican indigenous people. The collection of eight pieces is influenced by the event in 2006 when Oaxaca was the scene of one of the most recent radical citizen revolts in the history of Mexico against coercive and criminal measures by the state's governor. Thousands of men and women abandoned their routines, leaving aside everyday life and giving life to the Commune of Oaxaca.
